A few things worth knowing before any work is scoped:
- Mold spores naturally exist both indoors and outdoors.
- Completely eliminating every mold spore from a building is not realistic.
- Mold remediation is not the same thing as advertising “complete mold removal.”
- Moisture is what allows mold colonies to develop.
- If the water or moisture source is not addressed, mold may return.
- Musty odors can indicate areas that deserve investigation.
- Elevated indoor humidity can contribute to mold growth on its own.

Mold remediation vs. mold removal
Remediation focuses on identifying the affected conditions, addressing the moisture, controlling contamination, treating or removing affected materials where necessary, cleaning, and restoring the affected environment.
It does not mean promising that every microscopic mold spore has been permanently eliminated from a building — that is not achievable, and any company promising it is describing something else.

- Mold spores exist naturally indoors and outdoors, so removing every spore is not realistic. Remediation addresses the moisture source, the affected materials and the contamination.
- Will the mold come back?

- I only smell something musty. Is that enough to call?
